Self-Exclusion and Account Limits
Every control described here lives in the operator’s account settings and takes under a minute to switch on. The hard part is not the mechanics — it is deciding the numbers while nothing is at stake. This page walks through each tool in the order most players actually need them: limits first, then a short break, then a long one.
How deposit limits work
A deposit limit caps how much money can reach the balance in a day, a week or a month. It is the single most effective control available, because it acts before the money is in play rather than after. Set it at the figure you would be content to lose in that period — not the figure you can technically afford. Tightening the cap takes effect immediately; loosening it waits out a cooling-off window of roughly 24 hours, which exists precisely so that a decision made mid-session cannot fund that session.
Loss and stake limits
A loss limit works on net result rather than on money in: once losses reach the figure you set, play stops for the rest of the period even though the balance still holds funds. A stake limit caps a single bet, which matters most when a bonus is active — the terms already cap the maximum stake at EUR 5 per spin, and setting your own lower ceiling removes any chance of voiding a win by accident. Both limits follow the same asymmetry: stricter now, looser later.
Reality checks
A reality check interrupts play at a chosen interval — every 15, 30 or 60 minutes — with a summary of how long the session has run and what it has cost. It sounds trivial and it is not: the most common report from players who lost track is not that they ignored a warning but that nothing ever told them the time.
Time-out versus self-exclusion
| Time-out (cooling-off) | Self-exclusion | |
|---|---|---|
| Duration | 24 hours to 6 weeks | 6 months to permanent |
| Purpose | a deliberate pause | ending play on the platform |
| Can it be lifted early? | no | no |
| Account after it ends | reopens automatically | reopens only on request, after a review |
| Marketing messages | suspended | stopped |
How to activate exclusion
- Open the responsible gaming section of your account settings.
- Choose the duration. If the list does not offer what you need, write to live chat — support can apply a longer or permanent block manually.
- Confirm. The block applies at once and cannot be reversed for the term you chose.
- Withdraw any real balance beforehand or afterwards under the normal rules: from EUR 20, after verification, with the cashier review taking up to 12 hours.
Bonus funds and unfinished wagering are forfeited on exclusion. That is standard across the industry and worth knowing before you press the button rather than after.
What exclusion does not do
It blocks one account on one platform. It does not block other sites, it does not remove payment methods, and it does not undo a decision made yesterday. Someone who wants a wider net should combine platform exclusion with device-level blocking software and, where applicable, a national register.
The Latvian state register
In Latvia the gambling supervisory inspectorate IAUI maintains a state register of self-excluded persons that blocks access to every site licensed in the country. It is a stronger instrument than a single operator’s switch, and it is also a limited one here: Monro holds an offshore Curaçao licence and does not appear in the IAUI register, so the state list does not reach this platform. Use the operator’s own exclusion for Monro, and the register for the licensed Latvian market.
Free and confidential help
GamCare, BeGambleAware and Gambling Therapy all run free helplines and live chat, take calls from family members as well as players, and require no registration. Nothing about contacting them is recorded on your account. Broader context on the tools and warning signs is on the responsible gambling page.
